dudes...this album is damn infectious...the hidden psychedelics behind the Sabbath riffing are insanely good...I still have Meliora over this one in ratings, but somehow I feel them pretty much neck in neck in my heart.

This is my second fave. I remember when everybody was blown away by it in 2010, good times

Damn I missed Ghost on my decade top 10.

Meliora may be better but this was an earthquake.

I really like the aesthetics and the warm/slightly fuzzy production, but it’s borderline offensive to me just how limp-wristed some of this sounds. It’s like the antithesis of heavy. I don’t mind the vocals, but the performance just lacks any sort of impact or enthusiasm and I feel like that’s symptomatic for this record and the band’s output in general. It’s a bit of a shame, considering how well-crafted and catchy/infectious some of their material is.

“Ritual” is such a great song!

This shit is most infectious! And yes it gives that sensation of not being heavy, of some dismissive/ bored attitude of some kind, on my view its a part of the drill...but yk, this album is about the little psychedelic twists over the classic doomy sabbah riffing (Elizabeth f.e.) anyway...take it or leave, but don t you dare saying this ain t infectious.

Thing is, I don't think this has ever been supposed to be heavy. They certainly have that live image, but it's just an image

Any of their other albums similar to this? I still jam a handful from here after all these years so I feel like I should check out another one. Ritual and Elizabeth are my favorites from this one

If you go chrono you'll still find stuff you like but I doubt you will dig Prequelle.

Will do. I heard a newer track on the radio that was alright. Not sure what album it was from though

These guys are about this one and Meliora for me...Infestissumam is aright but a weirdo...I learned to dig that cheesy take on Prequelle...I sense and I'm afraid they'll go down hill from here.
