Really dig that "Relayer" refrain on The Ancient
and unsurprisingly, Chris Squire's work on that spot has a groove to it that really was rare for Yes.

This album is hard to get into. And I can see why a lot of Yes fans and Non-Yes fans alike may not like it. For me, the songs have a special nostalgic-like value to it that makes the songs twice as enjoyable. That's pretty much all music for me. Along with The Yes Album, this is my favorite Album.

I absolutely agree, very hard. It's also in my top 3 of the Yes albums.

All the songs have really grown on me with time, but I think they all overstay their welcome. That's the reason why I maintain this to a 4.

this is my fav yes
|
| |
yet you rated 3 yes albums higher?
|
| |
yeah. it's my fav as in "i listen to it the most". i think ctte, fragile and the yes album are all better and so i respect them more, but tbh i rarely listen to them. i'm not the biggest fan of yes' style, too cheesy and over the top for me, so when i do actually want to listen to them, i want them BIG. and this album is BIG.

While generally too long, the four songs really have their majestic moments.
