fuck solos in general. Im sure anyone would sound pretty amazing if they just stopped a song and did whatever the fuck they could come up with. Sane reason i dont like the vast majority of guitar solos: just cause you can play amazingly technical with zero connection to the rest of the music doesnt mean shit.

Good point. I generally don't enjoy much drums solos. Ian Paice is one of my favorite drummers just because he's an incredible rhythm drummer.

The fact that Bonham did a drum solo in one studio track isn't proof of anything. What about every other studio track he played on where he didn't solo? Bonham is hardly an overly technical or self-indulgent player.
