Underrate album, each song hits. Also I have memories of my sister blasting Minority while playing Super Mario 64, so now that song is forever associated with Mario 64 in my brain

Yep, this album should be re-recorded. Songs like "jackass" are mixed with an oversaturated volume.

Agreed with the review that the way Billie just goes 'suicide' in the middle of Deadbeat Holiday's bridge is a bit wtf.

This is such a memorable album to me. A friend of mine burned out his cassette tape of it in the car while we drove around when it came out. It just stopped playing at one point. This album actually did kill GreenDay's mainstream success at the time until "American Idiot", but I liked the stripped down feeling of this album. I am not going to go into much more detail about their later releases besides it's not as relevant here, but I thought "Revolution Radio" had a really good fun single in 'Bang Bang.' while I did get sick of 'still breathing.' I meant to post in the Kerplunk review, but figured I'd give "Warning" a high five.

Definitely top shelf Green Day. I'd put this on par with Nimrod and Dookie as some of my favorite non-AI albums. American Idiot is still my #1, though, and by quite a big margin.

AI kinda aged like milk to my ears lol
I love Dookie, but the run from Insomniac to this was just wild. so much creativity and diversity just overflowing in all those sessions. hard to believe it's the same band who are... what they are now

ya ive always loved this one
i still like ai a lot, albeit only a tiny fraction of how much i liked it when i was 13, but i absolutely take the 4 before it these days. nimrod is prob my fav j bc its scope is so wide and tries to pull off so much shit but all those albums own

Blood Sex Blues, Macy’s Day Parade, and Misery are some of the best Green Day tracks. This whole album rules. My parents had like every Green Day song on an old ipod and I remember digging the tracks from this album a lot

yea the Dookie - Warning run is pretty goated, Kerplunk is fun too

Kerplunk and 1039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours deserve more respect. Both are legitimately good to great.. They annihilate half green days discography. A lot of bad albums by green day exist like Uno Dos Tres Father of All and 21st Century.

yeah 1039 is def underrated and kerplunk owns. shenanigans has some songs i really dig on that comp
and yea i have nostalgia goggles for 21cb but its far from an album id stick up for anymore (shit steals so many of its melodies from warning lmao) and everything after that is either boring or horrible very dead band. would have loved to see an alternate timeline where they never made american idiot and made that album with scott litt that they wanted to with warning. maybe theyd still be a good band!
