I don't like Deadwing. The good songs are really good, but the boring ones are really boring.
I don't have any reason to try to act "badass" over the internet. I leave that type of thing to those with less social skills and larger insecurities.

In Absentia is probably the best, followed by Deadwing and Fear Of A Blank Planet.
This grew off me very quickly. I still haven't listened to an Anathema album that I've thoroughly enjoyed without getting bored.

I think Fear... is probably the best, but In Absentia is close. I like Anathema's early stuff and their lastest few albums, but none of the middle ones that everyone seems to get off on (Alternative 4, Eternity).

"except for Abigail's Ghost, they're basically like the beta version of Porcupine Tree" hahahaha that statement is sooo true
I second doing Fear of a Blank Planet first. personally i like Deadwing a lot more then In Absentia. In Absentia has like 4 realllly good songs but after that it doesnt do much for me

That's all three of the PT albums really. You come back for the really good songs and skip the rest.

Except for the newest PT album. There's really nothing worth listening to.

i loved the newest one. and lightbulb sun, stupid dream are both amazing. and the sky moves sideways and voyage 34 are the 2 best imo
|
| |
True. The new PT album is worthless.

I haven't spent enough time listening to Lightbulb Sun or Stupid Dream, but they seem ok. The new one did kind of go back to that style so maybe that's why you like it while the Fear of a Blank Planet people don't like it as much.

This band is insanely boring, but I find myself thoroughly enjoying this album.
