I dunno, I love One and it has some of the coolest Metallica parts ever (machine gun riff ftw), but hearing it on album just pales in comparison to hearing them play it live. Plus, Blackened and Dyer's Eve are two of the greatest pieces of thrash they ever wrote.

Dyers Eve IS their best 'full on' thrash songs. In the league with Battery, Trapped, and the fast songs on KEA. But Dyers Eve for me is prolly Tallica's best "strictly" thrash song. LOVE IT.

yeah, I'm with ya there. It's between that, Battery, Hit the Lights and (if you count it) Disposable Heroes. Though, I guess if we're counting Heroes then we'd have to count Creeping Death, which would be up there too. I'm not as big on Trapped, but I like it, as I do most Metallica songs.
Seeing them less than 10 feet from the stage last September was amazing. Kinda gross though that when Hetfield spit out his water, some of it sprayed on me.

I'm sorry Progmaster but I don't think your opinion is interesting enough to endure ten pages of stupid bullshit. Please stop bumping this thread.

haha, yeah, he was trying to do one of those, "spray water at the crowd like old yeller" things, but it ended up just being a few large blobs of water hitting only select people in the audience haha. They did play Blackened, Creeping Death, Battery, Damage, Inc, Ride the Lightning, Motorbreath and Last Caress in addition to their usuals (MoP, Sanitarium/One, Black Album stuff, Bell Tolls etc.) to make up for it though.
Love seeing them, always at least a 2 hour set. At least.

dude, seeing Metallica live is an experience no metal fan should be without (except haters and those too poor to afford tickets, as they are expensive as FUCK). I've seen them 3 times over the past 10 years. Always been worth it. Out of those probably 7 hours of performances, I've heard St. Anger songs exactly twice. And ReLoad songs no more than 4 times. So, that's good.

lol yayyyy fuck those records. Need moar Puppets. Have you seen them play Orion?

no, that I sadly have missed. The first time I saw them was in either 2000 or 2001 (can't remember) on a Summer Sanitarium with Korn, Kid Rock and System of a Down lol. That time they played a mix of Puppets, Load, Black Album, a little ReLoad, and three songs that weren't on any album (No Leaf Clover, - Human and I Disappear). They played Fade to Black and FWtBT off Ride also.
Second time I saw them was Summer Sanitarium 2003 with Mudvayne, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park and Deftones (again, lol except Deftones). That was when Durst got a bunch of shit thrown at him and booed off the stage after only like 2 or 3 songs. They played mainly the first three records that time (but no Orion), a little black album and Frantic + St. Anger. That was the worst time I saw them I think.
