Haha it comes so natural. These albums are emotional and uplifting. Ring Out Solstice Bells is basically my go-to Christmas song!

Roots to Branches is so underrated on this site. It's rather misplaced in the discography since it stands all alone quality-wise. Album would not be out of place among the folk trilogy albums imo, and it's in my top 5 Tull albums. I think I'm the one who rec'd you Roots, tef.

I like Roots to Branches but I feel the songwriting is a big step down from this era, as are Anderson's vocals of course.

@Jamie,

I don't find his vocal issues show up that much in Roots to Branches. Probably thanks to the technology. As for the songwriting, there are so many winner songs, all neatly crafted. No skippable song to be found, and couple of them would potentially be in my top 10 Tull songs, or very close.

I totally agree here with Jethro. Listen to "Beside Myself", "Roots To Branches" or "At Last, Forever".

The only minor thing wioth Roots is the sound; it's from '95, and it sounds a bit dated here and there. It even sound a bit older then mid nineties to me. However, the overall production is very solid and it has a great album feel.

If I had to pick a least favorite in here it would be No Lullaby, it's hard to keep my attention for the whole song somehow. Instead my favorites would be, let's say top three in order of appearance, Acres Wild (just can't resist it), Rover (I find it very emotional) and One Brown Mouse (same, and also bass guitar). Then again the album is a hard 4 so no complaints

Nice top 3, Sab. Choosing a least good song is a hard task on here. I really like ''No Lullaby'', but it's probably too ''heavy'' for the needs of the album. ''Moths'' would def be in my top 3. Songs are all in my top 3 hahah

Moths is top 1 for me. Not just on this album but in Tull's whole discog.

Songs from the Wood my man, aka my fav Tull. It's this but proggier, which for me strikes a sweet ass balance.

Always considered this one as the proggier one, but yeah definitely check Songs from the Wood.
