Frames is an album of learning. The first song I heard from 'Size was Trail of Fire, and I immediately bought the track off of Amazon after I heard it on Youtube. One thing lead to another...and before I knew it, I had all of their tracks.
I know in my heart that alongside Oceansize being my favorite band...they truly are the best band in existence.
Not in terms of enjoyment, for some people, but because of their approach to music, their success whilst not monetary, but rather in memorial longevity, and the inspiration they've provided to numerous listeners.
After I heard they broke up, I absolutely hated life and music for awhile, but then I listened to The Frame (which is shaping up to be a personal favorite of mine...you really can't beat that absolutely beautiful ending) and since then, I"ve been binging on 'Size, and I don't plan to stop soon.
Godspeed, Oceansize. God-fucking-speed.

I know what you mean about Effloresce creeping up on you Yazz. Sometimes there's just something that gives it a greater appeal that I can't quite determine, even though I've listened to both many, many times.

Yeah there's an intangible quality or atmosphere to it. Then again that could be said for all four of Oceansize's albums. There's almost a direct correlation to which album I prefer depending on the time/environment I'm in.

Yeah certain albums by them seem to just sound better when you listen to them in the right mood/setting.
I'll admit the originality of Effloresce is their best though. I mean I like Frames better, but coming from that standpoint it still isn't quite as original as Effloresce.
