"It's also somehow making me appreciate the rest of their catalog all the more"

thisthisthis. Especially Around the Fur. The chorus in Prince just reminds me of all the reasons I loved that record back when it came out. Even though the verses are straight from White Pony, there's something just undeniably ATF about that chorus.

You didn't get a sense of fanboyism at all? hahahaha At least this is enjoyable fanboyism to read.

Oh no it definitely is in some ways, but I expect that with Nick when it comes to bands like Deftones/Thrice/etc. He did defend his stance pretty well, even if I disagree with it being a classic, and it's definitely nowhere near the level of fap-fap I see in most Metallica/Isis/Tool reviews. There's at least two songs on here that are just weak in comparison to the rest of the record (CMND/CTRL and This Place Is Death IMO). That's why it edges SNW (where the weak tracks are really weak), but doesn't touch White Pony, which IMO is a perfect record front-to-back. I was more shocked that he gave any Thrice record a 4 or lower haha

Prince is still my favorite on this. The chorus is awesome.

I love that Carpenter's riffing got so much heavier on this album then on Saturday Night Wrist. I prefer it this way, it suits the album well.

I think Sextape might be my favorite.

Imo, Chino's vocals on here are better than they have been on ANY album. That's extremely rare, being that he's approaching forty (I think).

This Album is very well written and perfectly executed, I couldn't have asked for a better album. Chino is definitely at the top of his game on this album.

Absolutely, I'm so glad there's folks out there who share my sentiment for this fuckin badass cd. I though SNW, as much as I loved it, was somewhat of an identity crisis. They couldn't really figure out which direction they were heading, so they jumbled a lot of ideas together. This flows beautifully and features Chino's best melodies since White Pony and Stephen's best riffing since...ever...

Album is clearly getting overrated. This is lacking something...something that Saturday Night Wrist had.

Maybe its lacking the same ambience and atmosphere that SNW had but thats not enough to weaken this album too much.
