For their studio work it goes, Machine Head>In Rock>Fireball.

I would rate their studio albums as: MH = IR > everything else they have done.

Fireball is pretty much on par with this for me. In fact recently I've been enjoying it more than this.

This is pretty awesome, but I'm not too sure about "Maybe I'm a Leo".

Honestly, it sucks that most people only know DP from the "Smoke on the Water" riff.

DP's riffs aren't even that great, especially when compared to Sabbath's.

Now, when it comes to leads, that's entirely something else...

Yeah, I may be wrong there. It's all appreciation though.

I mean the riffs might not be as heavy as Iommi's but hey, this is Iommi we're talking about. No one

can match him in terms of heaviness, tone, etc. But that doesn't mean Blackmore's riffing ideas are

not memorable.

Yeah, Blackmore did have some nice riffs, definitely not Iommi level, but they suited the music well.

But the leads are prob my main reason to listen to this band. Both Blackmore's and Lord's. Such an awesome duo.

Paice was an awesome drummer too, and one can't deny Gillan's talent either.

I am not very fond of Paice's drumming skills.

But Gillan, yeah, the guy was an incredible singer.

And one of the first headbangers along with Ozzy.

I'll admit that Bonham was better than Paice in that he had more flavor and precision in his drumming. But well, different people have different opinions.

What are your issues with Paice?

Imo, Paice wasn't tremendously skilled and he lacked the personality of a great drummer. Aside from that, his style was/is pretty generic for my tastes. He was always overshadowed by the band's two maestros.

Although I have to say, its really hard to antagonize musicians such as Blackmore and Lord.

Iommi is the riff master but Blackmore is quite underrated regarding his riffs. Look at what he did from 1970-1978. In that period he released 9 albums and could do practically no wrong. There are a lot of awesome riffs during that period.
