Ahh... this is just a great album. The Primer just popped up on my iTunes and it brought me back to a BTBAM mood. Amazing vocals, instruments, and just album in general. good stuff.

Selkies is a good song, no doubt
but Backwards Marathon is without a doubt the highlight of the album
8 minutes that goes all over the board with both heavy and soft music influences
the only difference i think that Selkies and Backwards Marathon have is that Selkies is a bit more jazz influenced while Backwards Marathon is more ambient influenced...
also, i think Backwards Marathon sounds A TON like Mordecai (SOMEONE agree with me)

The first half of "Selkies" is boring, and the second part seems way too short.

Without the "chaotic" first half of Selkies, the ending and most notably the solo wouldn't be as effective. I agree with you if you split it in two, but you really shouldn't.
