Don't get me wrong, Froosh is one of my all-time favorite guitar players, but sometimes I really wonder how different music history would've turned if Hillel had lived

@sapient Well its not like RHCP were exactly revolutionary so I don't know how much music history itself would've changed
But the band themselves yeah very interesting to see how they would've turned out

I mean their approaches were pretty different, but I'd say Hillel stood out more. Froosh mostly complimented Flea imo. Don't get me wrong, Froosh was great, but overall I'd say I prefer Hillel.

He would most likely be considered as one of the best funk guitar players to have lived xD,his style's very unique!

This would probably me my 3rd favorite from RHCP after BSSM and OHM. "Special Secret Song Inside" is awesome.

BEEEHHINNNDDDD THE SUUUUNNNNNN
Kiedis also sang pretty well back in the day, the fact that he could rap and sing with ease puts him quite high among vocalists for me. He just doesn't have the same spirit he once had.

Yeah! He sounded pretty cool back then, very energetic and original. My favorite vocal performances of his have got to be If You Want Me To Stay and Out in L.A.
He lost the energy after BSSM.

I mean he does an okay job on OHM imo, but yeah, he wasn't on the same level on there.
OHM is their transition album for me: they kinda had a bit of that funk vibe still going and it still feels like they were having fun.
But after that, they just went full radio-rock.
FUNKY CRIMEEEEEE
FUN-KY CRIMMMMMMEEEEEEE

Yeah! OHM is actually damn good,it's weird why many don't like it.Dave is solid on that album. The problem with the album is probably the Mid section (Pea,One Big Mob,Walkabout) which ruins the flow a bit.
Yeah, they completely sold out man.I know the term sell out is cliche, but it's what happened to the Chili's x).They sold their souls to mainstream media.

I can't believe Anthony Kiedis did this lol.

Anyways, yeah man,I wonder if Hillel would have liked the direction the Chili Peppers are going.

I actually like "One Big Mob" and "Pea" is just a joke track...
I will agree with "Walkabout" though.
See in my opinion, Californication and By the Way even have their good moments. I just can't stand Stadium Shitcadium or I'm With You...

They're still awesome if you look past the shitty singles like Snow they make some fucking great music nowadays

Californication gets a 3.3 for me.
Some tracks on Stadium are alright, but I hate how Flea didn't get much of a say on it,because he
really spices up the songs.(He was actually about to quit the Chili Peppers because of this).

@Ars: Yeah man, Cali and BtW have some sweet tracks, but imo they're not as great as many claim (I think we mostly agree there). SA is 2.5 for me, so I won't argue with your criticism of it, lol.
But yeah, for me they pretty much slid downhill after OHM.
And yeah, fuck IWY, that's a hard 1 for me.
