"It had a lot of hype and praise at the time of its release and was considered the best Sabbath album since H&H"

Glad to hear that. Always thought this one went under the radar

Still feels underrated honestly. Like I didn't even know there was a third Dio-Sabbath album until like a year ago.

Searched for old live versions of Computer God to see if Ronnie could pull off that final note and damn he did

People always use this pain in the ass of an album to justify their intense hatred for Tony Martin like that's a quality argument.

Dio just sounded incredibly lazy here, like he absolutely did not give a fuck. Considering the events surrounding this album, I don't blame him.

Computer God and I are top notch Dio vocals, don't know what you're talking about buddy

Easily the best thing Sabbath did after Mob Rules in '81

Headless Cross has two or three classic songs on it and that's about it for Martin's albums

Still a great vocalist

yeah I like this album, it reminds me of Geezer Butlers solo albums with the guitar tone and riffs more than any of the other sabbath albums I've heard

Never checked those, I've heard they go more into an alt metal style. Could be interesting to see Geezer going for a more modern take

yeah it is more modern. the vocals have every era covered. rapping, screaming, singing, electronics. Black Science is a 90s marvel and Ohmwork is a 2000s take on nu-metal and punk

Geezer doing all of that certainly sounds weird, but as long as the production is good enough to clearly hear his awesome bass playing it will be worth checking

Gave this another spin, and ended up liking this more than Mob Rules. Heaven and Hell is still the best thing they’ve done with Dio imo
