i don't understand the mika hate, guy's got a great voice. obviously he's mainstream as fuck but give credit where credit is due



this album is pretty run-of-the-mill power pop imo, although the production is great and while Ruess' voice tends to annoy me (especially when he was with the Format), it's definitely improved. i just can't see how this is superior to a lot of good pop/rock from the year

I don't hate Mika, check Davey's shoutbox for my opinion on him; I hate the way he's marketed and how shamelessly his label clearly has him pander to shallow mongs.



How is this run-of-the-mill, Rudy? It's so much fresher, quirkier, upbeat, clever, nuanced, fun than anything else from its genre that I've heard in a long long time (personally - ever.) If you can find me 'pop-rock' from 2009 as good as this I'd like to hear it. But however you judge its quality, I really don't think run-of-the-mill is an accurate description.
