To be honest I think this album is much less aggresive than The Apostasy, thus seperating it at least a little bit... It could be just me.

It doesn't beat Demigod, but it's great.

Well, I've heard this album 3 times a year ago and... I don't know if it's due to Nile's "Those Whom The Gods Detest" which I still had in the ears at this time, but I have found this release VERY disapointing and boring. "The Apostasy" was great (and "Demigod" too, even if I hate the vocals on this record), with a lot of catchy parts and dark ambiences. No trace of catchiness or ambiences here, just generic brutal death metal riffs and blast beats... But there are worse things : it seems they have stolen a Gojira parts for "The Seed Ov I". Fuck, when I buy an album from Behemoth I don't espect to hear a single riff from Gojira (which is inspired by Morbid Angel) !

This is definitely better than The Apostasy, not as good as Demigod though. Demigod is one of my favorite death metal albums ever.

I know that Nile and Behemoth are VERY different, the first is far more brutal and the second have a black metal background. But on "Evangelion", Behemoth becomes more brutal, every thing is technical and fast, just like Nile's do (in a more "evil" way)... But it sounds a bit pointless to me. Not bad of course, but not interesting. So I prefere Nile which have done only one weak album (Ithyphallic) IMO.

Anyway, I think I will give it a try again soon... Who knows...

I like some Nile too, but I think Behemoth is just a lot better.

No Behemoth's song can beat "Unas Slayer of The Gods" (on "In Their Darkened Shrines) ! :P

This truly is a master piece (and unfortunately, on every new album, Nile persist in trying to reproduce such an epic song which is each time a failure).
