I think the silhouette ruins it a little.

I can never really decide between Since the Day or Above the Weeping World as my favorite. Haven't listened to these guys in a long time come to think of it.

STDIACD is their best album. Disengagement is brilliant.

ATWW has no weak songs. STDIACD has a couple weak songs but the title track, Daughter of the Moon, and Disengagement are some of their best.

Equivalence would have been so much better if it were 7-8 minutes long. I feel like it was a lazy way to begin the album. I feel like it ends right when it could have really got going.

Hey! What's all this positive talk? This album was barely above average ;)

Anyway, the real reason I posted is to see if anyone heard the new Insomnium song with Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity) on guest vocals.

Equivalence felt too long to be merely an introduction to the album...whereas Nocturne and The Gale both had very

prominent motifs Equivalence presented itself as a full-length song before ultimately, not delivering what it could have.

I felt like the band wasn't sure whether they wanted it to be an intro or an epic.

And no I haven't but i'm interested.

It's on YouTube. I like the short intro song on this album. It's the best part.

I thought that Insomnium + Mikael Stanne, especially considering my tastes, would be incredible, but sadly a lot of the riffs felt really recycled and boring as hell. It was ok, but not great.

On another note, I think the production on Stanne's voice gave it a nice bite that his vox with DT don't really have.

You guys say that the Stanne song was average and recycled, but it sounds like the same damn thing that's on this album...

The riffs on that song were recycled from songs on this album, while the riffs on this album are pretty great. C'mon Willie, Against The Stream has a sick lead.
