Just listened to it on MTV's the leak. To be honest, this is exactly what I expected from Green Day: a solid post-Idiot follow-up that leaves lots of room for improvement. This album and AI show that Green Day are much more mature than their Dookie days, lyrically and melodically, though I will say I enjoy the latter much more. With that being said, I did enjoy this album. I knew it wouldn't top AI coming in. However, I think GD was a bit ambitious coming out with an 80 minute rock opera - it seemed like they were trying too hard to top AI. Some negativity: the album got kind of repetitive. I was really in the first 5 or 6 songs, then it just got boring hearing the same poppy chord progressions. All in all though a decent release from green day, definitley won't match most of their other albums though

Know Your Enemy truly is a horrible song.

Seriously the laziest, worst song Green Day has written in years.

Pretty much

Insomniac is the only decent thing this band has put out, end of story. Nimrod contained some absolute garbage. This Message Edited On 05.11.09

I listened to Green Day a lot when I was younger and I still think American Idiot is their best.

I like AI because of the whole story and 70's brit rock feel it has.

Insomniac is cool for some angry 3 chord rock and Nimrod is cool for diversity.

I dunno. parts like the modern world have The Jam all over it. And the title track reminds me of 'Beat Surrender'.

Yeah it rules. But doesn't match the awesomeness of homecoming from AI.
