Man, this is a lot worse than I remember. The title track is the only one that I really fuck with. All the clean vocal sections on here feel so phoned in.

Yeah I remember The End being the strong point of this, but then again I love Lights so that’s prob why.

This whole album is a journey for me ngl. Love the concept, love the narrative, songs like You're All I Have are exactly the type of kitsch I love in this style. Still my favorite Silverstein album.
Title track owns and The End is possibly their best song.

this would be such a dope 10 tracker. 14 silverstein tracks is way too many tho lol

Was annoyed they played American Dream on their 25 year tour. That song sucks hard. Vices didn't do a whole lot for me either. It's weird how much this album grew off me since I liked it a lot when it came out.
Edit: The End was great live though. I think it was the first time I've heard them play it.

Yeah this falls flat for me. Always thought this was one of the worse Silverstein albums, cheesy writing, not many great hooks, etc.

been jamming them a lot this week because im stupid and thought antibloom was supposed to come out today and not next week lmao and i hate to say it but i kinda lowkey think thats true to a degree about a lot of their stuff. like they have their bangers but all their albums are plagued by cheesiness to a degree and their hooks are so repetitive across their catalog i swear ive heard the same patterns reused as much as four or five times, even on their better albums
i still like them (well, up to about 2017), they have a good handful of huge bangers that i love, and they still majorly slapped ass live when i saw them a week after the worst album they'll ever put out, they know how to play the old tunes like a machine, but i feel like i've kinda come to terms w them mostly being a playlist band for me these days

They’re like, the quintessential core playlist band. Few bangers throughout their career which makes their live set pretty strong but overall they have like a C+ catalog. That’s why I love short songs because it’s snippets of their strengths as a band without being repetitive or too cheesy, plus half of it is covers anyways. They would be an really strong full time short song band if they tuned the heaviness back up a bit.
I still very much enjoy them and have seen them like a dozen times over the years so.

lmfao yeah. you could make a banger condensed catalog of 4 or 5 albums out of their best songs but they have over 10 albums so its not an amazing ratio

The only Silverstein releases I truly love are their first two albums but I dig their EPs from before that too. Everything else has basically been just pick the songs I like off each album. They've for sure always had a cheese factor to them but it feels like it's gotten worse and worse until they've gotten to where they are now.
In the vein of Short Songs, their cover of Rodeo Clown by Lifetime is one of my favorite tracks they've done. It's probably one of my most listened to songs by them.
Just sucks it feels like a lot of their new songs over the past 8 years have felt phoned in. Lots of palm muted power chord verses without a lick of creativity.

yeah musically theyve regressed a lot over the last decade. paul marc joining gave us like one album of inspired riffs and then its been mostly phoned in since
most i like any of their albums is probably rescue although it still has most of their usual problems its just catchier and rips a little more viscerally. knows its place well

Couldn't really get into Rescue since Shane's cleans annoyed me a bit during that time but The Artist is hands down one of the best songs they've ever made. I think I've only gotten to hear it once live too, which is a shame because it rips.
