Formed in Connecticut but based in New York, Deathcore quintet Emmure target their debut LP 'Goodbye to the Gallows' to angry teenage boys. Produced by Chris Harris & released via Victory Records, these 10 tracks can fairly be described as heavy, crushing & brutal. Unfortunately, while there are a few flashes of promise, it's extremely breakdown heavy with the constantly low-tuned guitars quickly growing monotonous. Shortening song lengths when compared to their early demos & EP, the predictability of this record makes it a tiring chore to get through - even at just 29 minutes in length. Recommended Tracks: Rusted Over Wet Dreams & Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle.
