I'm very glad I scoped up the first addition of this. The packaging alone was worth the money.

While I'm not a hardcore fan of black metal vocals, this album tickled my happy place with its post-rock sexyness.

I checked out this guy's (former) side projects hoping they be just as impressive but unfortunately that's not the case.

...Speaking... is amazing and I'm using it as a stepping stone to like the rest of the album. It's around a 3.7 or so at the moment, so I rounded up in hopes that I'll dig it later.

I've listened to the album twice now. Is the newer one more post-rockish?

No it's not really. But the parts that are rule. Is there any other bands that try this out with a black metal approach?

don't really know of any that use it like in ...Speaking... but some bands like Ash Borer have a strong atmospheric tinge to their music, along with a few clean sections

I wouldn't say either of them were, but in terms what you're looking for, the newer one might be more your thing.

You should also check out Two Hunters by Wolves In The Throne Room. That album uses post rock elements in black metal
