It's real good, in my opinion. I think that these guys will become really great in time. And I wouldn't even call them a copycat band.

Singer just drives me nuts is all. His scream is real good, but any time he isn't screaming i wanna just beat him up.

He's amazing.

I really enjoy the guitar work/drum work/screaming on this album. However, I truly can not get passed some of his obvious ripoffs...
The beginning of "Fall Down, Never Get Back Up Again." has a curiously similar cadence to Messes of Men. Fail.

eh
1: "Fall Down" and "Messes of Men" are pretty fucking different songs, although both killer
2: music consciously and subconsciously repeats itself and it REALLY doesn't matter. just enjoy the sound
3: listen to this bands discog, and although yes mwY and dispute both "talk" sometimes, do "mathy" and ambient guitar riffs, and have poetic lyrics, they both have their own clear and distinct/unique foundations
4: repeat point 2

I do agree with all 4 of your points Natey, though for whatever reason I just can't stand his talking voice, it truly sounds to me like he is trying to mimic Aaron Weiss. I love certain aspects of La Dispute, but I just can not get passed how much the singer annoys me in that regard. Whether that's me being close-minded or picky, I don't know, I just know what my brain processes it as...and that is very very annoying sometimes.

The Last Lost Continent is easily one of the best songs I've ever heard.

I prefer his voice to weiss's. Plus the fact that mwy's new album sucked.
Can't wait for new stuff.

2: music consciously and subconsciously repeats itself and it REALLY doesn't matter. just enjoy the sound
So by your logic loads of mainstream rap/hip hop is worth listening to because I should be "enjoying the sound" and not worried that it's annoyingly repetitive.
Come on it's not like this is a Post-rock album where the monotony is built upon by other elements. It's basically the same elements throughout, except some of them become very static after a bit (Mainly his voice).

I was talking about bands doing similar chord progressions and melodies that other bands do, and no I am not talking about stuff being worth listening to or not worth listening to. If something is annoyingly repetitive then by all means don't like it. Don't like whatever you want. I just would encourage people not to get in a tizzy when they think bands are copying other ones.
This is kind of like a post-rock album (post-hxe)
