his 2 new records are pretty good
Ruminations for the bare bones experience and Salutations for that fleshed out with a band

agreed. Some of the songs I liked better in their more stripped down versions on Ruminations, but Salutations definitely has that oldschool Bright Eyes vibe. you thinking of reviewing it?

Lifted > This
BUT everything by Bright Eyes is at least good imo. All their albums post this were not nearly as great though. There are still some phenomenal tracks.
Four Winds off of Cassadega
Shell Games off of The People's Key
Easy/Lucky/Free off of Digital Ash

yeah post this was all slightly above mediocrity, despite me loving all three of those songs^^ plus a select few of others. Fevers & Mirrors is their best tho IMO

that was the most recent BE album I jammed and I rly love it, but Fevers does it that sound in a much more refined way while still being as emotionally raw

One of those things I just stopped listening to as it wasn’t of interest anymore, maybe I’ll go full circle & start revisiting my old CDs. There’s probably some gems amongst them that ‘17 Demon can appreciate.

After my gf spoke about this guy for so long I finally decided to check it out, and it is pretty great indeed. Funny thing, bright eyes are mentioned positively in the movie Boyhood

I'm in the inner bowels of the internet, and stumbled across this article, and realized I was there for it. I dunno, I just thought that was kind of neato.

Does anyone remember when these two albums came out for pre-order, and a select few were chosen to get an autographed poster from Conor?

I've only ever heard At The Bottom of Everything, Lua, and First Day of My Life before today. I really haven't listened to this band in years but I'm on a Better Oblivion Community Center hype so I decided to listen to all of this.
First of all, what the fuck is Road to Joy? That was perfect. I can add that to the list of songs that left me in tears on first listen.
The album didn't go in the direction I expected it to after the first 3, which all really impressed me, for the most part but it was all still very well done throughout. Very likely a 4.5
