I was adding the performers for each but that would've taken up half of the page.

For Ravel/Debussy, it's the Stuyvesant String Quartet, consisting of Sylvan Shulman, Bernard Robbins (Violin), Ralph Hersh (Viola), and Alan Shulman (Cello)

For Shostakovich, it's Harvey Shapiro (Cello) and Jascha Zayde (Piano)

I've only heard this and Shostakovic/Strauss LPs so far, it's really solid stuff. I read up a bit on the Nonesuch label and I dig the idea of getting the best in classical music to sell at half the price of what the major labels were putting out back in '64-'68.

Schoenberg is certainly a pretty worthy candidate but Bach is legit the peak of music in my opinion
