this album was ok but somatic defilement is way better than this one, the gore lyrics they had in somatic defilement are what hooked me into liking whitechapel "ill sew your lips below your waist, you will never fuck again" " by the saw i miam by the saw i live" priceless lyrics as all the songs lyrics went well together. this album on the other hand was good more diverse with lyrics and themes to the songs but honestly not as intense as the Somatic Defilement

Okay review. I feel like when you use sentences like:

"Altogether This Is Exile succeeds in every way shape and form that The Somatic Defilement didn't, the music sounds much more full and complete, the lyrics are better, if not a little lackluster..."
or "Whitechapel's The Somatic Defilement was not a bad album to say the least..."

It comes off really awkward. It could just be me, but it makes it seem like you're mixed up. otherwise okay review

It's not vocal processing, there's either little no effects added. There is, however, a lot of layered vocals, but straight deathmetal bands do it as well.

Unless you consider layering processing. They didn't do any shit with a pitch shifter to cheat and make it lower, so I don't really see how that's trying to cover up Phil's "shitty vocals". Plus, if you like the Black Dahlia Murder, which I've found most deathcore haters enjoy, check out Nocturnal. The vocals have been fucked with so much I can't even stand it.
