lysf
slow riot
f# (although I still need to hear the vinyl version)
yanqui
new one

but yanqui and the new one are more or less tied, at like a 3.5 or a 4

"f#a# feels too fragmented to me and there aren't enough real climaxes. not to mention i find the concept a little bit hard to stomach. it's still like a 4, their other shit is just better."

agreed so hard

the concept is one of the best things about it and I actually like there not really being any proper climaxes. I enjoy the music from start to finish rather than waiting for the climax.

because if there's a climax that means i only enjoy that part

and hell yeah shelfmaster knows whats up

not saying that's true, definitely isn't with slow riot, but it's a problem that's too easy for a band to fall into

i suppose that's true.

fucking lol at pitchfork for giving this a 5.6 and don't bend a 9.3

the lack of climaxes in f#a# is what elevates it above post-rock

it is not "above" classification as a result of not having (as many) climaxes.

funny when people bag on this album when it's better than the majority of releases by other post rawk bands

"majority" read as "all" pretty much

missing word there, meant to write

the lack of climaxes in f#a# is what elevates it above most post-rock

all i'm saying is i think that although i find lysf as enjoyable as f#a#, i think f#a# is the better

album because it creates the same amount of atmosphere and emotion without relying on fairly obvious

harmonically rich buildups/climaxes

lol no. crescendos are a music cliche, not a post-rock cliche.
