I liked parts of this but it was mostly born from feelings of respect at the ambition, rather than any unbridled enjoyment. Hoping the new one is enough encouragement to revisit. I have IGT rated higher, interestingly / could be an oversight? (hmm, owned it from way back when)

think this take has aged well tbh - IGT held up really well on a rejam, everything from Angle of Repose to the end of that one is spotless. this definitely packs more clout, but imo IGT stepped up well beyond the level of focus and songwriting refinement that anyone had a right to expect from (bless them) a messy splashy novelty act like this. light years away from the debut for sure
