And for some more words, this album is amazing. First listen and I am already blown away by the creativity and how much it holds my interest.
Sheer awesomeness from start to end.

Just read this review again with the album playing and i have to say, i think this is your best.
You are single-handedly opening me up to some amazing albums. BTTOS, Crimson, this...you are the man.
Ayway this album is almost too good. Three listens today and i don't do that for any band, accept The Mars Volta of course.
I think he utilizes the clean vocals perfectly. They are always perfectly unexpected and beautiful.
This album is just unheathily good.

I just listened to the myspace songs. It's definately good, but The Black Lodge is the only song that stuck out to me as great. It's pretty much a perfect song, but the others are solid and nothing more.

Very solid album, if your looking for something that can rival opeth, it's not quite there.. increase the softer passages & up the clean stuff and maybe..but still a very good album worthy of any metal fan
|
| |
I think it easily topples Ghost Reveries, if it has anymore softer passages it'll be just be named another Opeth clone.
|
| |
I enjoy this more than Ghost Reveries. GR was good, but one of my least favourite Opeth releases.

I would say it was on par with GR...I really like the song "Reverie/Harlequin Forest" in that album. Maybe in consistancy this is better, but i dunno.

Hear what you're saying, I like that song too but I think overall this is better

Yeah, individual songs (Ghost of Perdition, Baying of the Hounds R/H Forest) are more polished and encompass more elements than most on here (though the Black Lodge is a solid competitor), but where as the majority of the rest of Ghost Reveries was kind of meh (at least IMO, and by "meh" I mean pretty damn good, but sub-par by Opeth standards) every song on here is excellent (except maybe In the Failing Hour, where I think the one weak section of this album lies).
Consistency is definitely the word.

Consistency is definitely the word.
I'm on the same train.
Whereas I like to listen to certain parts of GR, I generally skip at least half of it. I don't really have any major problems with any of Shrouded Divine as of yet.

It will be interesting what the new Opeth is like...so far this is album of the year sooo far...but with Opeth comming in June, we shall see.
|
| |
This is also probably the best I've heard this year. Mind you, I haven't listened to many albums released this year, so it's not that much of a statement.

Wowwy Wah Wah this album is fantasticness incarnate. By Others Considered owns my life right now. Pretty much every song is fantastic. It's weird that this is their first album because it sounds like it could be a fourth it's so good.
Do they have any EPs/unknown albums that are accessible for me to splooge over?

Who knew that this was going to be that big of a hit on Sputnik. 11 pages and counting for good reason. I'd probaly up this if I listened to it more. In fact I will.

I have ordered this - quite looking forward to getting it. There is quite a bit of hype and the myspace songs were pretty cool, so my hopes are quite high.

They have five demos before this which aren't available anywhere, I'll see if they have any of them available for me to buy from them.
