i think all shall perish and suicide silence are the top actss on the deathcore gender, this album can be quite beast, but it is a bit repetitive, they kick ass live though

I saw them at bamboozle left, and the frontman was cool. He did this dance that looked like an evil crow or something. They have a very tight live show, and their drummer must practice a hell of a lot. Anyway, when I got home I checked out "unanswered" and there are some cool bits. Haven't listened to the rest of it though.

Joke band.

Terrible vocalist.

The guitarists try scooping their mids to sound "brutal" but it just makes their guitar tone sound like utter shit.

Definately one of the best deathcore bands out there in my opinion. No one I've heard can scream and growl like mitch and I've never heard guitar like that before.

Love iT!

I love Suicide Silence, but this album get old very quick. Alex's drumming tends to get on my nerves.

Metal/Hardcore have it pretty tough on this site, for instance, this band got tons of "cd sucks, but awesome live" comments, to me that makes a cd a success in a way. these deathcore, metalcore, hardcore, what ever you want to call them, their sole purpose for writing these songs is so that they will destroy live, none of these bands are gonna have a friggen gold record hanging on their wall no matter how good the album is.... they are however going to tour probably 250-300 days a year to make their living, some songs just translate better on stage then they ever will in the studio. but when reviewing an album for a band you've never seen all you can do is call it how you see it, or hear it i suppose...

Yeah but even if you slay live, if the material is generic or not good in general then it is all pointless.

The bands are probably better live because they write songs chock full of breakdowns with live performance in mind.

That said, I still think they're average.

it depends on how you look at it, its almost like two different categories really, some bands you may rather see live than anothers whose cd may be better. There's also alot of bands out there now that we're in the pro tools era, whose cd's are mind blowing and they can't hold it together live at all. i mean a live performance can only make up for so much. It does make sense also to write with live shows in mind, especially if your out playing 200 shows a year and you observe certain songs or bands make audiences flip out, it only makes sense that your going to want fans going nuts every show.
