Either one of them was studying Geography and they just took this all from a text book or they were watching the Discovery Channel with a program about pyroclastic flow because there was no internet back then. They were not just putting random words together, there is a sense to each line.

Admittedly, I wasn't a big fan of this the first time I heard it. I was pretty bummed out that day though, and when I went back a few days later, I wanted to punch the me of a few days prior in the face.
