what does everyone see in Century Child, aside from Ever dream and phantom of the opera it's really dull

I think it was okay. Though personally I think the producer didn't know how to handle Marco's voice.

but they seem almost like a completely diffrent band now...

I don't really get why people keep saying that. The songwriting is all handled by the same guy as it always was. All they really lost was a singer who effectively stood there and belted out notes, sometimes on key.

I don't know if Tarja was sick at Lowlands 2005 or what, but Jesus Christ was she awful. This Message Edited On 10.22.08

Century Child was solid, my third fav behing Oceanborn and Wishmaster. Are you telling me Slaying The Dreamer wasn't metal?

You saw Nightwish in 05? I'm jealous of you.

No, I wasn't there. There's videos of the concert floating all over YouTube. The dedicated Wish I Had an Angel to Andre from After Forever when they heard he was in the crowd. It stands as the weirdest performance of the song ever.

Tarja was doing this bizarre pole-dancing thing with her microphone, and her harmonizing with Marco in the chorus was atrocious. Nevertheless, the rest of the band were in good form at least. Jukka was dramatically swinging his arms like he was enacting some sort of tribal ritual to summon rain or... something, I don't know. Hell, I'm not an anthropologist. This Message Edited On 10.22.08

Beauty of the Beast was the best song on the album

In my opinion this album is pretty decent considering how they'd had Tarja for so long and had to get used to a new singer after she left. As a result this is more of an experimental album so you cant expect perfection straight away. Give them some time.

I've listened to every Nightwish album from Angels Fall First to Dark Passion Play in order and I must say that people getting all butthurt over Tarja being FIRED (some people on YouTube tried to tell me she really left and Tuomas pretended to fire her to avoid embarrassment...yeah so why did she counter Tuomas with regards to being FIRED then? Honestly...) is stupid. They made some change or advancement with each of their albums and getting a new singer is just one of them. Anette is a brilliant singer and her work with the band gives it a new but no less awesome feel.
I bet half the people who knock 'new' Nightwish and Anette haven't actually heard the new album...if they heard the opening track even they could not honestly say that this is one of their most epic and possibly their darkest album yet...

As far as I'm concerned, the things that happen to a celebrity can be hilarious, tragic, whatever. But the reactions of the fans are always a laugh and a half.

Century Child is still their darkest album. Just look at the lyrics for the songs.

It's not like this is light material either.

Also steerpike for a second I thought you were Dutch. Because you mentioned lowlands.

I am not saying this isn't dark because it is. Hell, Poet and the Pendulum and Master Passion Greed are some heavy shit.

That Lowlands gig is up on youtube if you want to see Tarja's amazing microphone dancing.

I know about the gig.

It's just that it's weird to see someone referring to a festival you know friends of yours go to.

I'm slowly going through my continental checklist. I was doing magic at a bar, and some girl thought I was Russian.

Strolling magic, spirit magic, and mentalism. In that order, think of David Blaine, Jim Callahan from Phenomenon if wasn't a bad actor and a moron, and Derren Brown. This Message Edited On 12.24.08

I only ever argue back with those fanatics half the time just to see how hilariously pathetic the next excuse will be. How those morons actually believe they are some sort of credit to Tarja is beyond me.

Century Child is still their darkest album.

You'll have to forgive me, of course Century Child is their darkest, but its been so long since I last heard it...

You seem pretty epic win

For some reason, a lot of fans seem to believe that what their favorite performer really needs is a barely literate rant on websites with heavy traffic where their screaming will be quickly drowned out by other, more apathetic primates.

I think so too.

Like somewhere along the lines of...
"TARJA IS TEH BEST U SUK I H8 ANNNETE SHE IZ A HORE RIP NITEWISH" (seriously I see something like that on almost anything to do with Nightwish -_-)
