well not really boring, just kind of slow. a lot of the riffs would be way more powerful with some badass drumming backing them up

Part of the draw of this album is that it was different than what was out there at the time. Tons of fast drumming would ruin what they were going for and this album may have never had the impact it did.

listened to the album again, i guess my comment shouldve been directed at the first few songs like "no love lost" and "buried dreams." later on in the album the drumming really picks up and is pretty awesome.
