I don't know, for me, this was my favorite album that they made. "Odal" is my jam eventhough it is instrumental, it is beautiful.

i love 'em all, but sometimes these songs just all begin to sound the same. ashes is more listenable and more varied, minus the stupidass closing track.

word^ Ashes would be a 5 for me if it wasn't for that track

i abide completely by this band and i have to agree, that track is so pointless

i mean, drone is cool, but it was completely unrelated to the rest of the album

I agree, that "song" actually pissed me off a little bit.

I really don't see the problem with it. I don't think it takes away from the greatness of that album at all.

i dont think it significantly detracts from the greatness but it certainly doesn't help it at all

id much prefer a stereotypical ambient outro

Good point. I still think that album deserves a 5 though.

I was just looking for the ultimate clean/acoustic/still metal album and I think The Mantle just hit the damn spot perfectly.

eh, ashes against the grain definitely isn't a 5 for me. i much prefer the style on this album and on
Pale Folklore (which i initially didn't like as much - meaning it was a 4, lol - but has been growing
on me a lot)

@bullitt: you hit it on the head.

Well I still think Pale Folklore is the best even though I have that and AAtG as 5's.
