I can't pinpoint exactly why I find this so underwhelming compared to its successors, but I can't shake the feeling.

I love this one but I can see why you feel that way honestly.

Burn The Remembrance is so good but my faves are Hours Of Wealth, Complicity, Sleeper, and the most underrated track of all time, Inside The City Of Glass. That song is so massive and apocalyptic man, can't believe no one talks about that one. Also really love Omertà and how subdued it is then it takes that really dark turn at the end lyrically, it's kind of a mindfuck.

So...by listening to the new The Ocean (that features Katatonia) I remembered some friend recorded this CD for me when it came out (because of Tool lol), and I listened to it a lot without actually sharing...now listening to it I'm acknowledging I remember practically every bit of it and with more notion that this is actually pretty good. Though sometimes is a bit too commercial it has a great personal value for me.

Lol yeah that's in "Criminals". In another song he sings about his hair being cut lmao.
Some of the lyrics on here are downright terrible, the worst he's ever written.
The vocal hooks on the other hand are among the best they've produced.

I trusted you,

you lied!

It's all I hear,

a fucking lie?

I don't give a shit,

it's over now.

It's all I know,

you broke the vow.
