To an extent, but I think that this is more drawn out in atmosphere than Stupid Dream and LS. I still think you're a bit too harsh on this JT. Even at it's worse, it's only a 2.5

KILL bro, I know it's blasphemy but I don't even remember that solo all that well.

Honestly Jamie it seems to me your rating for this just keeps dropping.

@Choccy: Well, you can't really compare this with Stupid Dream and Lightbulb Sun, because they don't

share the same formula. This is a very conceptual, album-oriented record whereas SD and LS are more

song-oriented albums. Both are awesome nonetheless

Still sounds very much like the same band.

Haha it dropped once, from a 2 to what it is now.

I suppose, but I was just comparing the sound in general. I'm well aware this works on a theme more than anything else

PT have one of the most interesting evolution in terms of sound, and I wonder what they would sound like if they came back together

Hopefully Wilson will have gotten all of his 70's prog ambitions out of the way with his solo stuff and will make something heavy/beautiful/haunting

Any of the above

You already know I disagree with you, because imo The Raven was the best prog album to come out in a while, and one of Wilson's finest realizations

"something heavy/beautiful/haunting"

Insurgentes and Grace for Drowning pretty much fit this description though

I only really enjoyed Luminol from raven and made me realise how boring and bland Wilson's voice can be. I also don't dig any of his solo stuff either.

To each their own, dude. I've seen him live for the Raven tour and it was really awesome, his voice wasn't that bland. He did some PT stuff too
