Yeah, it's not that great unfortunately. It sounds more melodic and grungy, rather than the booming post-hardcore/alt-metal the band did in their earlier stuff. I don't mind a change in sound, but I don't feel they're executing this stuff as well as they could have

Just listened: I was kind of hoping for some heavy riffs and power cords and there were none to be found! It's not terrible, but I'm not excited about it :-(

Yeah, heaviness is totally missing. The only passable riff is during the solo. That part at least sounds like Helmet.
