I'll give you that if I didn't enjoy Brand New's later stuff then I probably wouldn't have listened to this but I don't think you could say this is unremarkable. This has some pretty sick tracks and the potential for growth is clearly there...this is a good debut album, they lay a foundation for their sound and then perfect it on the next album. Not seeing the issue.
