I agree with SteelErected. One of my favorite black metal albums. Listening to this right now. And unlike a lot of people, I think Abbath has some awesome vocals. I'm sure I've mentioned that before.

I've just recently gotten into Immortal. Everywhere black metal went, theyre name followed. Ive heard about them for years but never really listened to them. Probably because of their appearance which I might say is ridiculous. But then I though....wtf i listen to Dimmu Borgir and Gorgoroth so how can say I wont listen to them bc of appearance? I was also afraid to listen to them because I was expecting really shitty production which I totally cant stand. Well Im glad I gave them a chance, in fact im really happy I did. Btw do you guys consider this their best album? This is the only one ive heard so far.

It's hard to say, Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism and Pure Holocaust era has its own appeal but At the Heart of Winter, Sons of Northern Darkness and All Shall Fall are exceptionally tight.

Immortal gets alot of hate due to their album covers. Music wise theres nothing wrong with Northern Darkness or Holocaust.

A lot of people do consider this their best album, including me. At the Heart of Winter and Pure Holocaust come pretty damn close though. This is definitely the album to start with if you're looking to get into the band though.

One thing you do have to understand about Immortal is they don't take their image to heart. They are doing it full force because it is fun, and I am sure they find it funny. The music is where it really matters.

To tell you the truth I would actually be upset if they didn't have weapons or angry faces in all those photos. I love it, there is no need to be so serious about everything. I know Hawks and I agree that this album is the motherfucking business right here.

I was watching a YT vid, 10 most ridiculous black metal videos. 3 of them were Immortal videos lol. Like you said, these guys might look funny, but when it comes to music they fucking deliver.
