Uhh I listened to it when it came out which was 2010 so I would've been 14. I listened to most of their albums at that time, except the first 2 and Chase this Light which I'd skipped, so I'm not sure why it hit me the hardest then but it still does now for the same reason

oh interesting, most stuff that i have that connection is more b/c of the circumstances around that song. e.g. for some reason ~2010 was the time of sweet 16s for my friends and also rock band so a lot of songs just have significance that way.
but ya idk is it the music or the lyrics? maybe the music is just htat good lol

Its both, I mean I really love how experimental that album is and how they pretty much covered every genre they've played in since they started as a band until the time it was released, but I also get deeply moved by the lyrics as with most of the stuff that Adkins writes
The title track especially strikes me as one of the most beautiful pieces ever composed in both a musical and lyrical sense. so idk
But if the music really was that good, I'm sure others would recognise it and the album would have higher than a 3.4 average lol
