Review Summary: Summary While a good album,I see Showbread turning away from their old screamo self and going into a Goth-ish type of genre. The only reason I even have this album is because my brother loved the first album,Though I must agree with Dancin'Man:the Keytar

1st. review, so some positive criticisim is welcome.

While I believe the music in it self is weak, the synthesizer is the only reason I like this album.

Track

1) Naked Lunch
While most of this album is about throwing up and obviosly reptiles, this song was written with the intent of making one woozzy in the chorus. The key suddenly changes so that it feels almost as if you are dizzy or,something. The guitars, bass, and drums are very mediocre, while there is very little synth going.vocals are pretty good.

2)Pachycephalosaurus
Very strong synth at the beginning and throughout the song.the lyrics are catchy enough to sing to yourself, but not enough to karioke to or anything, well stupid.Once again all the instruments except for the synth are mediocre.Vocals are OK.

3)Your Owls Are Hooting
A very intesting song, indeed, but not memorable(as i sit typing i can't even remember most of the lyrics) though I do know it is all about every single reptile they happen to like.

4)Oh!Emetophobia!
strong synth with catchy melodys and lyrics, but the title is pretty self explanitory, though the music video is pretty good.I looked the word emetophobia, and it means"the fear of throwing up".

5)Sing me to Sleep
Uniteresting lyrics, instruments and everything else.It is a good lullaby for your cobra, so the lyrics state.

6)George Romero Will be at our Wedding
Yet another song about throwing up,but catchy lyrics, and OK instrumentals make this song listenable. It is interesting, yet slightly grotesque, that he talkes about eating his loves fingrs and barfing up the ring. o_O

7)Centepede Sisters
Heavy Synth throughout most of the song, but not very memorable due to the fact that it hints another CD.

8)The Jesus Lizard
A song about them running on water like some lizard or Jesus is just slightly childish.Mediocrity is Showbread's middle name, apparently

9)Dinosaur bones
A unremarkable song that could have been worked on more before it was realesed

10)Age of Reptiles
A waste a 10 MB on your computer, this song is trying to be Matthias Replaces Judas, yet it isnt nearly as good

Terrible Review. It really does sound like you only listened to it once... And you missed alot of meaning in the album and just wrote it all of. Such as The Jesus Lizard; The Jesus lizard is written about someone who wants to be the savior and be worshipped by all simply because he/she can replicate one small thing that Jesus did. But in the end, it isn't enough and only Christ can truly live up to being the savior.

i have heard so many people complain about this cd! and i think it is completly unjustifiable! if you dislike the cd that is perfectly fine, it certainly isn't for everyone, but if you are going to say that the band sold out because there is very little similarity to "reptiles" and "no sir" (which is the main complaint that i hear) GET OVER IT!! if you would go back and listen to the album before No sir, "life kisses and other wasted efforts" you will find the same thing, that no sir sounds nothing like life kisses and other wasted efforts! bands change and evolve, they have to. do you have any idea how boring it is playing the same songs, the same style of music, the same things over and over again everynight?? i do. its gets very tiring and boring. change is necessary! so if your only complaint is that the band "changed"; go buy a new norma jean shirt from hot topic and some more girl pants and keep trying to act like you know something about music.

1st off, im not that emo, secendly, showbread could have kept up theur old screamo/post hardcore and would do a lot better. the catchiness of "no sir" was mostly in their scream mixed with normal singing. now they just clutter up stages everywhere with two normal singers instead of a singer and a screamer.

They actually released one LP and a few EPs independently which would make this their 4th Full Length.

Usually people don't understand why bands change unless they've been in one for a long enough time to see the monotony of music that doesn't change. No Sir was great. This is too, and it wouldn't have if it was the same. Actually, the albums are very similar musically; the main difference is the vocals and/or screaming.

this is the most horrible review i have ever read. this review is the equivalent of 9/11. it's like your stupid words are hijacking airplanes and flying them into towers made of bad grammar and things that don't make sense. i am both disgusted and offended by how awful this review is, and if i could review this review i would give it a 1 out of 5 only because sputnikmusic does not allow you to give out 0's. you disgust me.
