Review Summary: Vampiric gothic doom for the win!
Doom metal is all about the atmosphere men. Obviously bands playing this particular brand of metal have to have some type of atmosphere if they want to engage the listener in any way. Doom bands are not going to blow you away with any kind of technical prowess, blast beats or any of that stuff. The goal is to be slow, gloomy and invoke a sense of doom (DUH, IT'S CALLED DOOM METAL). Lady Luna and the Devil is a female-fronted duo that plays a more traditional style of doom heavily mixed with gothic elements and vampiric themes.
Vampiric Visions Vol. I: Living Blood is the third full-length album from these blood sucking ghouls and was my introduction to the band and lets just say, it was a hell of an introduction. This album is like a doom metal opera, featuring epic riffs ov the dark lord, absolutely soaring and melancholic female vocals courtesy of Lady Luna herself and a dreadful atmosphere of your impending capture by none other than Count Dracula himself. Lady Luna and the Devil give you an experience, not just an album.

I'm always one to be down for some nostalgia and this album brings me back to my childhood and starting my personal love for everything SPOOKY AND DREADFUL. Lady Luna and the Devil have scratched an itch of mine with their brand of vampiric gothic horror themed doom, and I hope they do the same for you.
