Review Summary: Having made an album better than their last. Breathe Carolina surprises everyone with an album that is not awful but a bit below...average.
Let's have an unbiased look at Breathe Carolina's new album "Hello Fascination". So far there has been a love hate relationship with the band's new album either rating it really low or pretty high.
Trust me this album is neither good nor is it plain awful, it is just a below average release by a below average band.
Breathe Carolina has finally decided to mature a little bit this time around and have put more effort into making their music. This time around they have added more layers making it a little less boring to listen through and almost enjoyable.
This time around they add simple guitar riffs which are very simple and no where near technical. There are also some average drumming at parts. This shows, that Breathe Carolina are actually trying a little to break away from using purely synths and special effects.
As for aggressive vocals, it is a little less random this time around then in previous efforts. As for clean vocals, it's a lot more clean this time around than previously before, meaning it sounds a little less produced (but it still sounds overly produced at points). As for catchiness, it is as catchy as songs can get.
As for lyrics, yes it is still pretty bad, but hey, it's more diverse this time around than last time. Just check out the song called "I.D.G.A.F" for proof of lyrical immaturity and check out "Rescue" for lyrics that are little less immature.
This album still suffers from downright awful techno drenched sing a longs that taints the more improved songs in the album.
Breathe Carolina seems to be going in the right direction with this release, still working out on being less generic, if they continue in this direction they just might have an average album next year!
