Review Summary: Suicide Silence has disappointed the world by releasing an album that actually sounds worse than their last.
No Time To Bleed is the latest release by California locals Suicide Silence the album as a whole is very bleak and offers at the most three to four tracks slightly listenable.Mitch Luckers vocal ability has improved though it does get a bit repetitive after 11 songs of high screams and double screams, also the drumming in the album is very well executed though for the guitars i wish i could say the same. with the odd sweep or solo the guitars are just your regular Death Metal riffs showing a major lack in change and just repetitive breakdown after breakdown.
They kick the album off with Wake Up, many people will probably dislike this song due to Mitch Lucker constantly screaming "Wake Up, Wake Up!" the whole song but the drumming is good the riffs are satisfactory but the thing with makes this song half decent is the solo about two thirds into the song though after that yes you guessed it more of Mitch yelling Wake Up!
Lifted is the second song of the album and this song raised expectations for this album being released earlier on their myspace it is also one of the better songs of the album it has a few changes of tempo and a fairly good breakdown (which I would probably through a kick or two if I saw them live) also an extremely well done sweep solo nearing the end of the song which I would say is the highlight of the song the vocals at this point are still bearable. One of my preferred songs of this album.
Third up is Smoke this song is the most irritating piece of garbage i have heard by a Deathcore band (and I've listened to Elysia) the drums yet are well done as well as the vocals though the song to me is just a massive breakdown and not even a good one at that.
Something Invisible is one of the average songs of the album though nothing to get excited over it was better than the song before it has a few changes of tempo though is fairly boring as well as the song after No Time To Bleed they are both very average and not at the level i thought this band was capable of.The vocals however at this point are starting to get a bit annoying.
Suffer starts of fairly boring but when the sort of group vocals come in it does make the song actually a bit better the song progresses showing a breakdown and some sweeping it then goes into the same breakdown and actually gives us the climax of the song when the big breakdown comes in and Mitch starts yelling "Suffer" it does make the song a bit better the song then fades out in a distorted way.
...and Then She Bled could possibly be the worst interlude i have ever heard in my life playing a clip of someone involved with i think 9/11 and the band playing a boring riff on top of it.
For the song Wasted I quite liked the first thirty seconds of the song and then it just goes back into the same crap the have been playing the whole album theres also a short solo which isn't that exciting but then leads into yet another breakdown.
Your Creations was another song which is full of blast beats and extremely short breakdowns, at this point of the album I couldn't be bothered listening to it anymore though I had too for the review.
The Final two songs of the album Genocide and Disengage were fairly average very similar in their structure but not the worst two songs on the album.
I really am disappointed in this album I was looking forward to it and this band had let a lot of people down The Cleansing is probably more worth buying if don't have it yet.
Overall this album with the exception of a few good song the album as a whole was fairly mediocre.
