I heard this band on TV for just a few seconds and I could only remember some good-looking girls with a bad attitude and they were playing some kind of hardrock/heavy metal, these girls has this band called Crucified Barbara. The band four members and all of them come from Sweden and they are all females. They started as a punk band in the sudurbs of Stockholm, Sweden but they have broadened their music and it became a blend of punk/hardrock and heavy metal. They realeased a couple of singles and later the album ¨In Distortion We Trust¨

The band members has these ¨fake¨ names and they are:
Mia ¨Coldheart¨ - lead guitar and vocals
Klara ¨Force¨ - rhythm guitar and backup vocals
Ida ¨Evileye¨ - bass
Nicky ¨Wicked¨ - drums and backup vocals

We will begin with the black haired guitarist and vocalist Mia, she is a great musician because this girl knows how to handle a guitar. Her solos are very cool and solid, they are also quite complex and technical but not so melodic, and she also does great rhythm sections. Her singing voice is good, she sings with attitude so the vocals sound pretty bad a**. She does not sing growls or screams, she sings good but she is not near to singers like Tarja who was kicked out from Nightwish (maybe a bad comparison but I think you know what I mean).

Klara is the rhythm guitarist and she is also good with the guitar, though I have never heard a solo from her but her rhythms are solid and tight plus that they are heavy. Her backup singing is no big deal though, I have never heard her singing alone so... Well it seems like I can't find anything more about this member o I jump to the next one.

Ida on the bass, very good bassist, not one of the greatest but I like her bass lines. She plays with her fingers by judging of all pictures and music videos I have seen. You can hear the bass lines pretty good and there are some filler sections on almost all tracks if I remember correct. Not much to mention about her either but the bass on this album is good.

Nicky is behind the drums, I would say that she is an average drummer. She plays quite simple patterns, not like black or thrash musicians. The drumming is not some over-the -top stuff, they are ¨calm¨ if you compare them to other metal bands. Hardrock drumming in other words.

And now to the important part of the album, the songs. The album kicks off with ¨Play Me Hard (The bachelor's guitar)¨, a heavy and catchy song and is one of three singles according to their website, the song is in medium pace and is one of my favorite tracks. ¨In Distortion We Trust¨ is the title track, this is also a quite heavy song but it is in a little faster pace. This song does have some great growls near the end but they are sung by a guest singer. Her name is Aurora Parmacek and she is the singer in a band called ¨The Great White Plague¨, band that I have never heard before. The band goes on with ¨Loosing The Game¨, not as heavy as the opening tracks but it is still quite catchy and has some very good but short head banging riffs. ¨Motorfu*ker¨ is one of the faster tracks, the intro is made by motorcycle engines and later the band kicks in. The song has some catchy moments but the song loses it speed and the chorus is just repeating itself and it becomes very boring. After all these songs the rest got really boring to me, of course there are some heavy tracks here but they all pretty much sounds the same and some tracks has wierd riffing and such. ¨I Wet Myself¨ is an example of the tracks I don't like and thats one: The odd lyrics about wetting yourself and two: The song is slow and there is no cathiness. But when the track ¨Rock 'N' Roll Bachelor¨ starts to play it becomes enjoyable again, the song is a mix between rock and metal. The first part is basically rock and later some head banging riffs are played which makes this to one of my favorites and a highlight song of this album.

So there you go, hope you enjoyed it and it is time for me to end this review. This album was very interesting to listen to, the blend between different rock genres made a really good sound and I would recommend this to most rockers or if you are looking for something different you should check this girls out. And remember that these girls does not play the same music as the NU-metal band ¨Kitty¨ which is also a all-female band, this band is way more ¨soft¨ and not as brutal as ¨Kitty¨ is. This band will be very interesting to follow and see how they will develop in the future.

PROS
+ Great guitar work
+ Pretty good material
+ Some lyrics are good
+ They are all females!

CONS
- Most part of the lyrics is so out-dated, hang overs, former boy friends and such doesn't work anymore
- Some songs may sound similar to other songs on the album

RECOMMENDED TRACKS
-- Play Me Hard
-- In Distortion We Trust
-- Loosing The Game
-- Rock 'N' Roll Bachelor

And the final album rating will be: 3.5/5
