There was so much anticipation for what Lower Definition was going to do after The Greatest of All Lost Arts. Three long years have past and now we have The Infinite Et Cetera, a five-song EP that borders between opinions and took quite a bit of thinking to really get a true and honest rating of. Expecting more, a three rating is a bit disappointing, but there was more awkward little moments here than truly expected. The one thing I question are the breakdowns, they're not good. They seem to come in at moments where the band doesn't know what else to place there, the simplicity and pure lazy aspect of them just brought me this weird feeling. Another bothering was the repetition of songs, every song brings the same feel and what sounds to be the same basic set up. A few choruses are catchy and there are a few choice lyrical lines worth remembering and thanks to the great clean vocal performance here (and a not so great scream) you can here them without any voice effects. Call their previous albums what you will, Lower Definition was on to something. This next step though is a step in the wrong direction, heading towards the generic and less away from the "art form" they were beginning to craft earlier in their career.

This was pretty much what I wanted the guys to do with the next release I wanted to hear from them. They took out almost all of what made them a little annoying to me. Which was the boring breakdown that brought down every song. This is so fun to listen to.
