The vocals, while being quite good and clearly inspired by classic In the woods, really do not match well with My dying bride-esque death-doom.

If they're going to make a vocalist switch, I wish they would have just went back to the female vocals. Barring that, they should have found someone similar to Robert Lowe (Solitude Aeturnus) considering the fact that the best Funeral song ever is the one where he does the vocals. Anyway, this gothic melodramatic deep operatic vocal style is terrible and the music (while really good) can't do enough to cover it up.

Takes a couple listens to appreciate but it's got enough to keep me coming back. It's good.

Another change of sound...with a new guitarist bring in big doomy riffs but not in a way that always matches the new baritone opera singer. The new singer while talented, his stylistic opera for 67 minutes became less enjoyable to sit through. Some guests as well for violin, vocals, and folk elements which were some of my favorite elements here. Overall all though I prefer the older funeral doom rather than this new, gothic based band.
