Remove Jane, Mercy Me and Kings of the Prairie - and you have what o would consider to be as near as perfect a Pixies album that you could expect coming some 33 years after their peak. Best reunion album.rBest female vocals since Kim. Looking back without feeling overly reductive (Doggerel) and looking forwards that actually works (unlike Eyrie). Sure it lacks the frenetic pace they once could bring, and a tendency to settle into mid tempo - maybe it?s unfair to even expect too much else at this point in their life. What they do here they do it very welll. Great production too.
