I am not familiar with the previous work of The Black Crowes but Happiness Bastards caught me by surprise. Not only the compositions are tight here, but also the melodies are sweet and catchy and the grooves are infectious. All these elements are wrapped exquisitely in a southern feel that reminded me of another favorite band, Blackberry Smoke. Recommendations: "Flesh Wound", "Bedside Manners", "Cross Your Fingers", "Follow the Moon".
