The Likes of Us is the first album since David Longdon's unfortunate passing. David wasn?t with the band from the beginning (joined in 2009), but in the course of nine albums, his voice became synonymous with the English progressive rock band. Alberto is the new recruitment behind the mic but as always, the rest of the band contributes vocals in one way or another. The vocalist adapts immediately to the band's style and its intricate compositions. As expected, The Likes of Us contains a bunch of prog epics such as the colossal 'Beneath the Masks' which stretches for almost 18 minutes, the 10-minute cinematic 'Miramare', and the closing 'Last Eleven'. With 'Oblivion' as the album's lead single and the pastoral 'Skates On' showing off the characteristic British folk tendencies, the Bournemouth-based proggers pay tribute to their departed friend with a decent album full of clean, focused, and well-executed tracks. Recommendations: "Miramare", "Oblivion", "Last Eleven".
