1.5 very poor | ajcollins15 | July 28th 21 | When 2017?s ?Go Father in Lightness? came out it actually blew my mind at the time, and still honestly blows me away. Something about the arena rock bounce of the drums, the potentially honest lyrics, and the dense amount of chamber and indie influences. So, I had actually high hopes for this EP, and damn was this not good. Starting with an average indie and arena rock banger. Then going to a slow-burning snoozer, and finally finishing with a chamber rock ballad like those from the late ?90s that goes nowhere. In a lot of ways, these seem like thrown-out B-sides from their last album?which is sad since it?s been four years since that.

3.0 good | lz41 | July 20th 21 | Le'aupepe's open-heartedness has always been endearing but seriously Elbow worship c'mon...

4.0 excellent | grandfather | July 16th 21 | Angel of 8th might be their best song. The other
two are solid National worship, per usual EDIT the
production in particular is so fucking much better
than their past work

3.2 good | Erwann S. STAFF | July 18th 21 | A top tier GoY track, followed by two quiet, subtle, and almost not boring chamber pop numbers.
