4.0 excellent | MattRTS | April 14th 17 | Fresh, honest, and excellently written. JM is back with an album that is unapologetically him at his best. My only reservation is that "Roll It On Home" disrupts the overall feel of the album and may have better served as a B-side.

3.0 good | theBonerKing | April 15th 17 | I really don't see where all these high ratings are coming from... This is pretty good and a step up from Paradise Valley but it's nowhere near as good as Continuum or Born and Raised.

3.5 great | YuriGama | March 31st 22 | This in my view is his most "low-key" album, without the characteristic "Mayer" intensity that
made him famous. It's his most "average" album, but Mayer's average material compared to other
artists is in fact "great" or "excellent" at minimum. I would give it a 3.7.

3.5 great | angrytortilla | June 5th 19 | Mayer continues to be an utterly lovable artist. Not his most memorable work, but good nonetheless.

3.5 great | IfYouRun | June 13th 17 | Reviewed the first two "waves" of this and unfortunately that meant I had heard most of
the album before release.
Some fantastic tracks on here like "Still Feel Like Your Man", "Helpless", "In The Blood"
and "Moving On & Getting Over". Quite varied too, but there's definitely one or two
filler tracks on here and it never reaches the heights on Continuum.
A good release though, and puts him back on the right path for the next release.

3.5 great | wy2sl0 | June 8th 17 | Agree with the consensus. I think Continuum at 4 is still a little low as probably a top 10 album
of 2000-2010, and this at 3.5 is probably a little high, although the amount of mediocre albums on
here that get 3-3.5's are surprising and dilute the pool. Definitely some filler in there; this is
no BNR, Continuum or even Try!.

3.5 great | conditionals | June 3rd 17 | Nice sounding album. Could have been so, so much more. But in the end it was just a nice sounding record.

3.5 great | Nolan D. | May 8th 17 | half these songs are really damn solid like still feel, emoji, roll it and live forever, but this has some eh tracks too like changing, in the blood, love on the weekend. Really great musicianship but pretty single-minded lyrics

3.5 great | houseofleaves | April 18th 17 | I still wonder why he didn't release the album as a whole to begin with. Knowing half of the tracks on a first listen kind of ruined the experience, but it was still worth it. Solid record, much better than Paradise Valley.
